Wengen, Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

Lauterbrunnen Valley has tiny villages on both its rims - and one of them is Wengen - which is photogenically poised with dramatic views that seem like 'animated watercolor paintings'.

Explore the dreamy vistas at dusk from the bench in front of the church peering over to the misty Staubbach Falls, down to the chasm of Lauterbrunnen Valley and up to the glacier-capped Jungfrau massif.

Wengen is the biggest of the three rim villages (Murren, Gimmelwald) of Lauterbrunnen Valley and you can reach Wengen village only by train.
