Sangameshwara Temple, Pattadakal, Karnataka, India

Sangameshwara or Vijayeshvara is an incomplete temple built in Dravidian style and inscriptions on it date it to between 720 CE and 733 CE. The temple was left unfinished after the death of its patron the Chalukya king, Vijayaditya Satyashraya, in 734 CE.

Niches or devekoshtha's of the Sangameshwara Temple have splendid iconography of both Shiva and Vishnu. Carvings include Varaha lifting Bhudevi, a dancing Nataraja, Ardhanarishvara, Shiva with Bhringi, Shiva spearing Andhaka, and as the yogi, Lakulisha and many more
