Ranthambore Fort Rajasthan, India - A UNESCO World Heritage Site

Located atop a hill near Sawai Madhopur, Ranthambore Fort is a formidable monument found within Ranthambore National Park and has withstood many sieges. Ranthambore Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan. How to reach Ranthambore Fort, Rajasthan, India?

The fortress was captured by many kings of Mewar and Ranthambore was under the direct rule of Rana Hamir Singh (1326–1364), Rana Kumbha (1433–1468) and Rana Sanga (1508–1528).

Ranthambore fort has three Hindu temples dedicated to Shiva, Ganesh and Ram built in the 12th and 13th centuries. There is also a Jain temple of Tirthankars Sumatinath and Sambhavanath.
