Nilgiri Tahr in Eravikulam National Park, Western Ghats, Kerala, India an UNESCO World Heritage Site

Eravikulam National Park has the the largest surviving population of Nilgiri Tahr also known as the Wild Mountain Goat.

The Nilgiri Tahr inhabits the open montane grasslands of the upper reaches of the Western Ghats and feeds on herbs, shrubs and grass. Also known as Alpine Ibex it is as well found in Nilgiri Hills, Anamalai Hills, Periyar National Park and Palni Hills.

Other animals found at Eravikulam National Park are Lion-tailed Macaques, Nilgiri langur, Indian Muntjac, Sambar deer, Golden jackal, Dhole, Leopard and Tiger.
