Buffy Fish Owl at Sundarbans National Park, West Bengal, India

It does live up to its name the The Buffy Fish Owl found in Sundarbans National Park - as it feeds usually on fish, as well as crustaceans, reptiles, frogs, toads and insects. They are also happy devouring rats, mice and large beetles or bats.

Perched on the water edge Buffy Fish Owls swoop down to fish or snatch prey from the water's surface. They are found to walk in shallow streams to seize crabs, frogs and aquatic insects.
