Great Wall, China
The Great Wall of China totaling more than 13,000 miles in length and is said to be the most recognizable symbol of China and its vivid history. Originally built as a means of preventing incursions from barbarian nomads by Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the third century B.C. - its best preserved sections have been built in the 14 to centuries A.D., during the Ming dynasty.
